Yanbu, Arabia Saudita, 19.01.2024 - Stilo, the leading Italian brand in the competition helmet market, marked a milestone in its history today with the nineteenth victory at the Dakar Rally. Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz (ESP) enriched the company's illustrious list of achievements by winning the Dakar 2024 at the end of today's final stage in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Stilo's joy at the finish line was particularly intense, as the helmets of the Italian brand achieved a resounding one-two. Guillaume De Mevius (BEL) and Xavier Panseri (FRA) indeed finished the race in second place overall with the Toyota Hilux of the Overdrive Racing team. A phenomenal result for the Belgian driver, in his third Dakar, who raced with tremendous tenacity and speed.
Stilo's victory, the nineteenth from 2004 to today, is an ode to dominance and consistency in the world of the Dakar Rally. In Dakar 2024, the success of the Italian brand was emphasized by an incredible series of results. Christina Gutierrez (ESP), representing the Red Bull Junior Team, won the Challenger category at the photo-finish aboard the Taurus T3 Max, becoming the first woman to triumph in this category, expertly navigated by Pablo Moreno Huete. The Challenger category delivered an unprecedented result, with Stilo represented in all of the top five teams. Taking the second step of the podium were Mitch Gutrie and Kellon Walch (USA), who had to concede victory in the final stage due to a mechanical problem. The third position went to Rokas Baciuska and Oriol Vidal Montijano. Fourth position for Francisco Lopez Contardo and Juan Pablo Latrach Vinagre (CHL), while in the fifth position, Austin Jones (USA) and Gustavo Gugelmin (BRA) secured their place.
Stilo's winning streak continued in the SSV category with Xavier De Soultrait and Martin Bonnet (FRA), securing their first victory for the Sebastien Loeb Team. The second place was clinched by Jerome De Sadeleer (CH) and Michael Metge (FRA), completing a splendid one-two for Stilo helmets.
Stilo secured the third position in the Truck category with Mitchel Van Den Brink (NL), Moises Torrallardona (ESP) and Jarno Van De Pol (NL). In the Dakar Classic, Paolo Bedeschi and Daniele Bottallo (ITA) finished in third place, further consolidating Stilo's presence in all categories.
