As the motorsport world turns its attention to the 63rd edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona, all eyes are on Daytona following the Roar Before the 24. Drivers and teams are fine-tuning their cars and preparations for this weekend’s race. Last year’s winners, Porsche, are aiming for a record 20th overall victory. Behind the precision engineering of the cars stands another champion: Stilo, the trusted choice for over 90 elite drivers this week.
Porsche’s Quest for Glory
Porsche Penske Motorsport returns as the defending champion, fielding two Porsche 963s in the prestigious GTP class, alongside customer entries from JDC-Miller MotorSports and Proton Competition. The GTD-Pro and GTD categories will also feature four Porsche 911 GT3 R cars, including a debut entry from the Iron Dames. With a revised driver lineup and rigorous preparation at the “Roar Before the 24,” Porsche is poised for another standout performance.
Stilo: Forever Ahead
In October 2024, Stilo celebrated its 25th anniversary and unveiled its latest helmet line, the ST6—the next evolution of its popular ST5 predecessor. Drivers like Felipe Nasr, Laurens Vanthoor, Filipe Albuquerque, Will Stevens, Dennis Olsen, and more are utilizing the ST6 at this year’s 24-hour race. This new helmet combines decades of advanced carbon manufacturing and electronic integration, making it a perfect fit for champions.
A Heritage of Success
Stilo helmets are no strangers to victory lane. From last year’s Daytona win to podiums around the globe, the brand has become synonymous with winners. As a trusted partner, Stilo ensures that its drivers compete with the highest levels of safety and performance. The Stilo team has been trackside all week, working with drivers and teams to optimize their helmets and HANS devices for the race.
Preparing for Battle
Preparation for Daytona has been meticulous. Over the three-day Roar Before the 24 test session, Porsche’s GTP-class entries logged 636 laps, while their GT cars covered over 4,000 kilometers. Stilo’s products played a critical role in these grueling test conditions, providing drivers and teams with crystal-clear communication throughout the weekend.
Looking Ahead
As race weekend approaches, the Stilo team is anticipating a dominant performance at Daytona, with teams and Stilo drivers already taking podiums in Sunday’s IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge event.
Rafa Racing’s 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge Cayman champion, Ian “Crimsix” Porter, completed an impressive comeback to join teammate Kiko Porto on the podium in Sunday’s race, also securing the Bronze class victory.
Stay tuned as we follow the action and celebrate both on the track and in the pits.
