A Weekend of Unmatched Excitement

Paolo Bonetalli, Managing Director of Stilo, shared his excitement: "Le Mans needs no introduction. When the lights go out on this marathon, hearts beat for 24 hours to the rhythm of the engines. Our Racing Service team and all our staff have been working tirelessly for months, ensuring every driver wearing a Stilo helmet enjoys maximum comfort and performance. Seeing seven drivers on the podium and nearly reaching the LMDH podium is incredibly satisfying for all of us.In a 24-hour race, the helmet is one of the fundamental elements, we received positive comments from all the drivers, and to be able to celebrate at the end is a satisfaction to be shared with all our staff. Last but not least, congratulations to all the Stilo drivers and teams who achieved a great result at Le Mans, and thanks to all the drivers who chose our helmets for this legendary race."

For those new to endurance racing Le Mans stands as one of the toughest and celebrated races worldwide. Since its inception in 1923, this race has been a cornerstone of endurance racing, pushing drivers, teams, and their machines to the limit. Held annually near the town of Le Mans, France, it challenges participants to complete as many laps as possible in a 24-hour period on the 13.626 km Circuit de la Sarthe. The race combines closed public roads with a specialist racing circuit, creating a unique and grueling test of speed, efficiency, and endurance. Over the decades, Le Mans has seen the rise of automotive legends and unforgettable moments, cementing its place in motorsport history.

Stilo Dominates LMP2 and LMGT3 Categories

Bergamo, June 18th, 2024 - The 24 Hours of Le Mans, the ultimate test of endurance racing, saw an incredible performance from drivers sporting Stilo helmets. The renowned Italian brand celebrated victories in both the LMP2 and LMGT3 categories at the iconic La Sarthe circuit.

Oliver Jarvis Leads United Autosport to Victory in LMP2

In the LMP2 category, Oliver Jarvis (GB) emerged victorious, driving for United Autosport. Despite a rocky start that nearly knocked them out of contention, Jarvis and his team showed exceptional resilience and skill to clinch the win. His success was a testament to his driving prowess and the superior comfort and performance of his Stilo helmet, crucial for the grueling 24-hour race.

A Historic All-Stilo Podium in LMGT3

The LMGT3 class saw Stilo dominate with an all-Stilo podium. Morris Schuring (NL) and Richard Lietz (A) took the top spot for Manthey EMA in the #91 Porsche 911 GT3 R, marking the first victory for this model of the legendary 911. Stilo, as the Official Supplier of Porsche, celebrated this milestone achievement, knowing their helmets played a key role.

Darren Leung (GB) finished second in the #31 BMW M4 GT3 of the WRT team. The third spot on the podium was taken by the all-Stilo crew of the #88 Ford Mustang GT3 from Team Proton Competition, driven by Giorgio Roda (ITA), Mikkel Pedersen (DK), and Dennis Olsen (NOR). Their performance added another remarkable chapter to the history of the Blue Oval.

Laurens Vanthoor and the #6 Porsche 963

The #6 Porsche 963 of Porsche Penske Motorsport, driven by Laurens Vanthoor (B), finished in a commendable fourth position overall. Despite just missing out on the podium, Vanthoor's performance showcased the resilience and competitiveness of both the driver and his Stilo helmet.

Stilo's Widespread Impact

Beyond the podium, Stilo helmets were worn by all the top six crews in the LMGT3 category, including the #44 Ford Mustang GT3 and the #85 Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo II of Iron Dames. This widespread use underscores Stilo's participation at the top level, but also shows the variety of uses of Stilo helmets both on the track and over the wall.

The Stilo ST5 FN: The Helmet of Choice at Le Mans

One of the key factors in the success of Stilo drivers at Le Mans was the use of the Stilo ST5 FN helmet. The ST5 FN is part of Stilo's Formula line, designed with a focus on unparalleled lightness. By eliminating the integrated accessory ports on the sides, Stilo created the lightest full-face Formula-style helmet in the world, weighing just 2.58 pounds. This significant reduction in weight helps reduce driver fatigue during the grueling 24-hour race.

The ST5 FN meets the stringent FIA 8860 Helmet homologation standard, ensuring it meets the highest safety specifications required for professional racing series. While most racers may not need helmets that conform to such rigorous standards, those who do can trust the ST5 FN for its superior protection.
